A carved match holder with two brown bears climbing a hollowed stump. In original paint with red glass eyes. Written on the bottom: "D'un ami qui vous obulie jamais, Edgar Gaudette. A Therese C" (From a friend who will never forget you, Edgar Gaudette, To Therese C.). Good condition with wear and some loss to the ears. Quebec late 19th century. Signed on bottom with French inscription "D'un ami qui vous obulie jamais, Edgar Gaudette. A Therese C." Translates to "From a friend who never forget you, Edgar Gaudette, to Therese C."

Excellent, untouched original. Minor knicks on ears and edges.
