Description
A carved Nova Scotia foot stool with heavily crackled red paint over original blue, having a deeply shaped skirt with a carved star flanked by two wings. The top has notched corners and a large carved diamond with a rosette at the centre. The splayed plank sides are also carved and terminate with a volute style foot. Very good condition. Ex collection Alan Clairman. Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, 19th century.
