Green: 6.5" x 12" x 7". Brown: 6.25" x 12"x 6.75".

A lot of two carved Nova Scotia foot stools. The first example is in original two-tone red and green paint (overpaint removed) with the skirt having a carved star flanked by carved wings. The top has cut corners and is carved with a central diamond and star motif. Loss to the skirt on one side. The second stool in original brown paint has a shaped skirt with a carved rosette, splayed plank legs and the carved top has rounded corners. There is an old crack to the top and one plank leg, minor chip on the other leg. Both stools are ex Alan Clairman collection. Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, 19th century.
