ARTIST
Kerras Jeffery was a folk artist from Prince Edward Island. He produced whacky, fun, iconoclastic works including double-headed pig carvings, King Tut masks, a Canadian Mountie beaver, and a bear sculpture that guarded his back door. He was known for his creative, playful spirit. For example, he once took an old gun that had lost its value, carved a moose, put it on the end and called it a 'moose gun'. He made the Guinness Book of World Records for building the world's largest egg beater in 2005. With an exhibition in Calgary and a website, Jeffery's sculptures have been sold across Canada and beyond. His commissioned work includes pieces created for Kingsbridge Garden, St. Andrews, New Brunswick.
