Kerras Jeffery was a folk artist from Prince Edward Island. He produced whacky, fun, iconoclastic works including double-headed pig carvings, King Tut masks, a Canadian Mountie beaver, and a bear sculpture that guarded his back door. He was known for his creative, playful spirit. For example, he once took an old gun that had lost its value, carved a moose, put it on the end and called it a 'moose gun'. He made the Guinness Book of World Records for building the world's largest egg beater in 2005. With an exhibition in Calgary and a website, Jeffery's sculptures have been sold across Canada and beyond. His commissioned work includes pieces created for Kingsbridge Garden, St. Andrews, New Brunswick.

Description
Alma, Prince Edward Island. C. 2000. A highly inventive and humorous zany magician dressed in traditional black and white is about to pull a white rabbit out of his black top hat. The piece, sitting on a plain brown base, was made from wood, an old teapot and bits of leather and fabric found by Kerras Jeffery (1966-2017), so noted by Alma P.E.I. folk artist and owner of the Backroad Folk Art Gallery. Branded, "Kerras Jeffery Woodworking PEI", on base.
