Description
A one-gallon earthenware jug with a strong mottled orange and green glaze with desirable veining over the entire surface. Very likely made by one of the Niagara-area potters. Ex. Jowe & Pauline Creighton collection, Jordan Station Ontario. 1860s-1880s.
Condition
Excellent condition. Very thin glaze flake at the front of the spout. Scattered minor thin chips along the base edge. The dark line running horizontally just above the base edge along the left side is in the glaze and is not a crack.
