An unusual and perhaps unique embroidered Tree of Life quilt with multiple trees and branches surrounding a central image in perfect symmetry on a light background. The design is further embellished with floral sprigs with coloured blooms as well as butterflies, swans, birds, a duck and a fish, all surrounded by a wide grey border having a continuous line of budding tulips. The reverse side could stand on its own with a large orange panel within a checkered border and having coloured wool tufts. Mid 19th century.
