Description
An exceptional walking stick with the pommel carved as a full figure man holding a large watermelon with both hands. In strong original paint with the man wearing a yellow shirt and blue pants. Found near Cannington, Ontario, circa 1880. Illustrated in "Canadian Folk Art to 1950", page 406, John Fleming and Michael Rowan, pg 406.
Condition
Very good condition, minor paint loss to otherwise untouched surface.
