Description
A carving by David Horst (1873-1965) of a squirrel with a raised tail sitting on a stepped, speckle-painted base while holding a green nut. Good form and natural patina with painted eyes and black fingers and toes. Horst was an itinerant carver in Waterloo County, Ontario. Unmarked.
Condition
Original paint and surface. Minor wear to the ears, nice surface.
