An exceptional and large stoneware storage jar (possibly a churn) with a bold and well-executed cobalt sunflower decoration and stamped, "N, Eberhardt / Toronto O". The capacity mark "5" in cobalt script.. Many believe that the "O" after Toronto signifies manufacture right around Confederation. Late 1860s. N. Eberhardt, Toronto. O. "5" in cobalt indicating 5 Gallon capacity.

Excellent condition with just a 1/2" in-manufacture flaw at the bottom left of the decoration and a tiny unseparated potstone just above the "D" in Eberhardt.
