Description
A blanket chest with a painted river scene on the top showing a paddlewheel with a man at the bow, a person on the shore waving, and a figure pulling a load across the river with the aid of an overhead rope. The scene is framed with two swag curtains, giving the impression of a window view. All original, very good condition but hinges need to be reset due to the natural shrinkage of the top. Softwood, square nails, circa 1860.

Excellent condition. Original hinges need to be reattached.
