Description
A Niagara Peninsula summer quilt in red, white and blue with the unusual addition of the maker's name and date in a wide band on one side. The overall design has alternating patterns of peonies in urns and triple branch tulip motifs with either a cat or a bird of paradise sitting on a curved branch in opposing corners. Hand stitched, signed and dated - Cordelia Seburn 1851 (note the "N"). Very good condition with some light fading.
