Description
Wooden stable lantern with the original bentwood handle and having a sheet iron candle socket and swivel latch. Complete with an untouched dark patina, pegged construction and snipe hinges. Overall good condition with an old split in the top and metal loss to the heat shield, minor chip on the lower right hinge area, and one pane is cracked. Late 18th century.
Condition
Split to the wood on the top. Iron heat shield is coming apart from the wood on the one side. 3" crescent shaped crack to the glass on the door.
