Description
Canadian. 1899. Sir Wilfrid Laurier declared "The 20th Century will belong to Canada and anyone who experienced the wonder of a World's Fair or Exhibition might have been inclined to agree. This gorgeous and informative poster clearly shows good reason to be excited for the future of the country. New innovations, exhibits, entertainers, and special guests- all are promoted in this vertical broadside. Featuring whimsical imagery of a trapeze performer plying his trade astride two galloping horses, the boundless optimism is tangible. A great piece of Canadian Exhibition history. Marked, "Telegraph Press, St John, N.B.", on lower left edge.
