Description
Brantford, Ontario. C. 1980. This man driving his white horse and buggy is a fine example of the humour and originality of Steve Sutch. A unique artist, Sutch's works cannot be categorized solely as 'carvings' or 'sculptures', but rather 'mixed media' as he incorporated many unconventional materials into his works. He would often adorn his wooden sculptures with clothing made from fabric scraps, and hair made from yarn. Sutch's works are humorous and insightful. Marked, "Made by S. Sutch", on bottom of base and top of base.
