With its large gleaming vertical tooth grill and the newly introduced fender "Ventiports" it is widely considered one of the most beautiful and desirable post war Roadmasters. This 1949 Buick Roadmaster Convertible features the stunning and factory correct sequoia cream colour with red leather interior. It is accented with the 'Riviera package' sweep spear chrome side trim, available only to convertibles later in the 1949 model year. Approximately just 8800 were produced. It contains Buick's powerful and famous straight eight engine. It is unique in that it has full power windows, roof, and seats, luxury features for the time period. Significantly, 1949 was the second year for the rare, smooth and unique Singlespeed automatic 'Dynaflow' transmission. This car has been family owned for over 40 years with 42,646 actual miles. It is one of the finest examples in existence. You may recognize this car as the same make and model featured in the hit film "Rain Man". Condition
A meticulous older restoration to factory specifications. Some pinpoint touchups to paint nicks on hood edges, cowl. Minor weeping from the baseplate of the carb on to the exhaust manifold. Extremely minor foam wear compression on the outside edge of the drivers seat, seat portion. A minor loss to the driver's side 'no-draft' rubber gasket has been filled with a rubber compound. Some cracking and fraying of the wire jacket at the fuse block located at the front left of the upper rad support. 42646 actual miles. Everything is in working order, including the radio.
