German. 1940s. Black Scottie dog (990) is marked "U.S.-Zone Germany". Post-war German manufacturers were banned from exporting goods. Americans occupying the territories permitted the sale and export of toys so long as they were marked "Made in U.S. Zone Germany". This marking was used from the mid to late 1940s. The spaniel dog is not marked. Marked, on box. Stamped, on underside of box. Spaniel is unmarked.

Excellent condition overall. Both tested and working. One original box with some detached flaps. Includes original ball. Scottie has minor staining on coat near keyhole. Spaniel shows some wear and fraying to mohair and fading to fabric.
