Valois, Montreal, Quebec. C. 1950. Wonderful Canadian folk art figures hand carved depicting an elderly Quebec couple. The man with green vest and smoking a pipe, the woman with plaid shawl and carrying a wooden bucket. John Purvis carvings were typically painted by his wife, Dorothy Stockton. Signed "Hand Carved by Purvis in Canada" on underside of bases.
