Description
A nautical themed small box with carved and applied harpoon motifs on all sides, in black pitch paint over the original varnish. The lid is loose, never having hinges, possibly a former oyster box. Minor chip on the tip of a harpoon on the top and other minor abrasions. Nova Scotia, late 19th century.
