An early Newfoundland box in pale blue paint with the front and sides having incised clovers in each corner and a foliate motif at the centre, all within a hatch carved rectangular border. Remnants of a pink overpaint highlight the fine carving. Constructed with dovetails and early nails. Repair to the back edge suggests a missing lid. Early 19th century.
