Description
Nova Scotia. Late 20th century. Charlie Poirier makes pine carvings of birds and occasionally of people shown in everyday situations. In this grouping, Poirier shows a man dressed in dark red and blue with a black hat and boots. He has a determined look on his aging face as he walks a Dalmation puppy in natural colouring. The figures stand on a plain varnished base. This well-known carver is from Cheticamp, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Signed, on bottom of base.
