Description
Quebec. 1880s-1890s. A fine example of a mottled green and orange-glazed baking dish attributed to the Dion Pottery of Ancienne Lorette, Quebec, highly coveted by collectors.
Condition
Several very small and minor chips are evident along the edge and underside of the rim. Areas of glaze wear consistent with age and use can be seen on the inside of the dish. The two small voids in the clay seen inside the dish occurred during the firing process and are considered to be manufacturing flaws.
Medium
Redware.
Provenance
From the June and late David Chambers Collection.
