American. 1890s. Nickel plated and painted case. Features cased ruby red glass side marker lenses with bevel-cut to clear edges. The front lense features a star cut center. A rare American accessory safety bicycle lamp featuring an innovative spring suspension design. Brass tag embossed, "The Brilliant / Chicago / G&J Mfg Co.".
Condition
One side light is cracked. The surface exhibits paint and plating losses and minor oxidation. The lens visor has an impact to one side. Complete with original fount and burner assembly.
