Two (2). Canadian or American. Germanic folk art. Late 19th century. (1) Pencil, ink and watercolour on paper. Early grained pine frame. (2) Ink and ink wash on paper with period wood frame. (1) Fraktur-style images of perched and nesting birds among branches and flowers. Two sheets joined together. (2) Birth or baptismal record in fraktur-style German script. Features a bird perched on a circle with geometric decoration and borders of stylized flowers. (2) Dated 1846.
Condition
(1) Staining. Small losses at lower edge. (2) Foxing to paper. Three small holes evident. Faint creases to sheet. Small losses to frame.
