Description
Canadian. Brantford, Ontario. c1885. Salt-Glazed Stoneware. This jug features a stylized cobalt blue floral decoration commonly found on many pieces of stoneware produced during the time that W.E. Welding operated the Brantford pottery (1873-1894). Stamped, "ROBERT JACKSON / WINE & SPIRIT MERCHANT / 38 & 40 GEORE ST / TORONTO ONT / 2". Note the misspelling of the word "George" in the address line.
