In the early 1990s, Nova Scotia’s Bradford Naugler (1948 - ) created this “Mermaid, with Merman" standing on a turtle which was later included in the 2007 Canadian/US tour of “Canadian Folk Art from the Collection of Susan A. Murray". It is illustrated on page 8 of the catalogue. Bradford began carving and painting in 1989. He is well known for his boldly rendered and brightly coloured carvings. His work includes a commission for the Confederation Gallery in Prince Edward Island, and is included in the collection of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and in collections throughout North America and Europe. 48(H) x 14(Dia)".
