Description
An early 19th century pine deed box with drawer in untouched surface, originally purchased from the Black family of Amherst Nova Scotia. In dry red surface with a yellow drawer having green painted cock beading and the original brass knob, the box retains faint original faux graining and a floral urn motif above the drawer. Exhibited in the "Country Heritage Loan Exhibition" at Montgomery Mills in Toronto in the 1970s. Ex collection Mr. and Mrs. Gerald S. Lowe. Circa 1840. 5.75" x 8.5" x 5". CODE-FUR
