Canadian. Circa 1856-1865. 2-5 examples known to Don. Barrel marked, "M. Burns Toronto". 32”, .48 calibre barrel. Barrel shows light wear and contact marks. Walnut stock shows light contact marks and evidence of extensive old repair in the trigger guard/end of barrel area. Engraved steel furniture and straight tang. Damaged flip up rear sight. This is a rare rifle as Burns was in Toronto only for a short time before moving to Barrie. Lock functions properly. Don and Joyce Blyth collection. CODE:FIREA
