Description
Canadian. Circa 1857-1898. 2-5 examples known to Don. See Gooding pg 148. Marked on lock, "L.M.McINTOSH". Marked on both barrels, "L.M.McIntosh Goderich C.W." 27 7/8”, .40 calibre barrels. Barrels show a couple of light vise marks and some pitting in the nipple area. Decorative turning at the ends. Walnut stock with 2 cheek pieces shows dents, contact marks and worn checkering. The hammer is loose but the lock functions properly. One nipple is broken. Steel furniture. Missing one ramrod thimble at the nipple end. The swivel mechanism works as it should, but the barrels to stock fastening is loose. Don and Joyce Blyth collection.
