Description
American. 1920s. Pressed steel. It is assumed that toys marked "Steelcraft" are made by a company of the same name. In fact, toys that have a "Steelcraft" label are made by the Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co, a Cleveland company that opened in 1919 to make parts for the automobile. They made toys using the same production methods they used to make full-size car parts. The toys marketed as Steelcraft gave the company the diversity they needed to survive the Depression. In other words, if one company failed, they always had a backup. This is a beautiful rare toy that is visually appealing with interesting curves, a unique grille shape that is in original untouched condition. A definite must-have to add to any collection. Marked "Mack Jr." on both sides of bench seat. Marked "Steelcraft on rear of front bench seat. All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions. All purchases are eligible for delivery to the Spring Dixie Gas & Oil Show on April 10-12 2025.
