Stoneware mixing bowl with a broad rim and the lower half glazed in Albany brown slip. The rim has a three-line merchant stamp "From, A. Sneath & Son, Penetanguishene" (note misspelling of Penetanguishene)). Ontario, 1880s, The building originally owned by Alfred Sneath in 1876 and presumably where he operated his business is today known as the Dault Block (Sneath having sold it to Donald Dault in 1901) and was designated for its architectural and historic value in 2002. Marked upper rim.
Condition
Minor pitting to the brown glaze. Rim chips with minor loss. 0.25" impact to the front under script with minor loss. Wear present around exterior of the base. Minor flaking present on the interior of the bowl.
