Description
A semi-ovoid redware crock/jardiniere with a glaze ranging from dark green to a reddish/brown and coupled with strong natural veining. Very likely made by one of the Niagara-area potters. Ex. Jowe & Pauline Creighton collection, Jordan Station Ontario.
Condition
Very good condition. Two tight 4" cracks (unglued) at one side, from the rim extending downward. A 1" and two 1/2" chips along the top edge of the rim. The 3" line just above the base edge to one side is an in-manufacture mark in the clay, not a crack.
Provenance
From the Jon Church Collection.
