A rare Waterloo County school journal with 140 pages exhibiting Fraktur drawings, arithmetic calculations and skilled penmanship including human figures, distelfinks, tulips, hearts, a radiating sun, etc. Many pages are with colour and some are divided with various top borders. Purchased in November 1978 at the Arletta Zehr sale (Wilmot township). Unrestored condition with a well-worn cloth cover and some foxing/stains on various pages. A rare museum-quality object. Ontario, 19th century. Marked throughout.
