1988. Ted Harrison (1926–2015) is celebrated for his distinctive use of color and form. "Japan" is Harrison's interpretation of the Japanese culture. Through bold colors and dramatic landscapes he achieves harmony between tradition and modernity as well as nature and the human spirit. This work is personal to Harrison, inspired by his travels and appreciation for Japanese aesthetics, Signed and inscribed "Japan" and "Harrison" in Kanji. Signed "'Japan' by Ted Harrison. Acrylic 1988". Signed and dated twice on reverse.
