Description
Lower Prospect, Nova Scotia. 1980. Bright colours, including pink, are central to the art of Joe Norris (1925 - 1994). This lively autumn scene features a hunter dressed in red and brown garb standing in front of a white birch tree at the edge of a dark evergreen forest. Overhead and in the water, a lively gaggle of Canada geese seem to be unaware of the hunter's presence. Autumn-coloured grassland frames a bright blue bay and a rocky shoreline sweeps across the landscape below a pale blue sky. Signed lower right by the artist. The piece is mounted in a plain white wooden frame. Signed Lower right, "Joe Norris".
