Description
Canadian. Pre 1928. While the name Benjamin Moir likely means little to anyone, everyone recognizes the Pot of Gold brand of chocolates (one of the best-known brands of chocolates in Canada). Moirs began in 1816 when Benjamin opened a bakery in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This sign is a predecessor to the Pot of Gold brand, which was the first mixed assortment box of chocolates offered for sale by a confectioner. If you look closely at this sign you will see an assortment of chocolates with an attractive young woman expressing how happy she would be to receive a box of Moirs on Valentine's Day. This is a large and vibrant display that dates prior to 1928 (the date Moirs developed Pot of Gold) and will make a beautiful addition to any collection. All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions. All purchases are eligible for paid delivery to the Spring Dixie Gas & Oil Show on April 10-12 2025.
Condition
Grade: 8.5. Very good condition. Colour is very vibrant with exquisite detail. There is minor light scratching above the word "Moirs", a crease on the ride side by the wrist, minor water staining, and peeling cardboard at lower edge and minor cardboard loss at the top of woman's hair.
Medium
Single-sided cardboard (SSC).
