Description
Canadian. 1920s. Very difficult to find complete with the knuckles, legs, and head. The chalkboard was used to display humorous slogans and riddles, periodically updated by the service station. Stamped, "Can Oil Co., Collingwood", on reverse. Authenticated by The Authentication Company. (Feet: TAC #400190, Body: TAC #400191, Head: TAC #400192). Condition
Grade: 8.75. Very good original condition. Some minor paint loss, flaking, particularly face of slateboy and perimeter. Some fading to hands and knees. One wood chip to wood, top right. Retains original tin chalkboard, overpainted. with ghostscript underneath. Overall, an excellent example.
