German. C. 1905. Despite the French name, Georges Carette was a German company that produced a large line of superb toys. This Carette Limousine was made during a period when cars were only for the very rich and the toys based on them were also only for the very rich. This is an exceptional toy and very rare. Unmarked.

Very good condition. Tested and working. Spring driven. Retains original driver. There are heavy loses to paint. The lever activates the stop-and-go brake. Retains original white rubber tires that are heavily cracked, show paint loss and are misshapen. There is some oxidation to the metal surfaces on lights. Retains original key.
