Japanese. 1950s. Linemar is the trade name Marx used for its toys that were manufactured in Japan (to keep costs down) and then sold in the U.S. and other countries. This is a highly collectible and hard-to-find toy, especially with its original box and in this condition. A great addition to Superman, superheroes, army, tanks, or other collections. Marked, "Linemar" and "Linemar Toys", on box and lower rear of tank. Marked, "Copr., National Comics Publications, Inc.", on lower rear of tank.
Condition
Good to very good condition. Excellent colour to toy and box. Tested and working. Some pinpoint marks and scuffs. Wear to the lower edge of Superman's cape. Original box is in very good condition. Some soft edges and one flap are present but disconnected.
Medium
Lithographed tin.

From the Phil Barnett Collection.
