German. Pre 1935. The Crawling Beetle was one of Lehmann's most iconic and most popular of his animal toys. It was produced until 1935. This colourful walking bug was designated as product number EPL 431 (EPL for Ernst Paul Lehmann). The toy flutters its wings and crawls along in a realistic motion. Marked, with Lehmann trademark logo on top front of beetle. Marked, "Lehmann", on key. Marked, "Made in Germany", on underside rear of bug's body.
Condition
Fair condition. Windup mechanism tested and working. Shows playwear and some glossy paint loss.
