Japanese. C. 1930-1950. This is an authentic brass diving helmet from TOA Sensuiki Co, Ltd, an esteemed Japanese manufacturer known for its maritime diving equipment. Likely dating from the middle 20th century, this helmet features a beautifully aged green patina. The helmet includes a glass front portal for direct vision and caged side portals for added protection, along with several wingnuts around the collar used to secure it to a diver's suit. This helmet is a piece of diving history, perfect for collectors of nautical artifacts or vintage industrial equipment. A remarkable find for any maritime enthusiast, with excellent historical and display value. Manufacturer's plate mounted on lower front edge.
Condition
A series of impressions to the top. Some plating loss. Retains all wing nut fasteners. Complete. Some brassing/wear to the plated surface. All glass is intact. Good original untouched condition. Sitting on a contemporary custom-made wooden stand.
