Description
American or British. 19th century. Two similar walking sticks, each with a coiled snake grasped by a hand. The snakes' heads are placed on the back of the hands. Both show textured carving of the snakes' skin and the lighter example also with black paint. Unmarked.
Condition
Blonde cane has a pressure split with old filler running vertically from the middle finger downward through the back of the wrist. Other pressure splits with old filler present running down the shaft.

Hardwood.
