Description
Canadian. Early 20th Century. John Goodison was responsible for a small miracle in Sarnia, Ontario. He took a failing thresher company and turned it into one of the city's largest manufacturers of threshers, steam engines, and other farm equipment. His factory took up an entire city block! One of the secrets to his success was interesting advertising material, and this poster is a fine early example. Showing off one of his steam engine models alongside a thresher the viewer is shown both the quality of the manufacturing through product close-ups and the ease of use, with the machinery being employed to bring in the harvest. Simple, but effective advertising conveyed in gorgeous detail.
