American. 1930s. Popeye became a star in the toy industry, being first promoted by the J. Chein Company, who introduced a comprehensive line of Popeye toys. Marked, "J. Chein & Co.", on box. Marked, "King Features Syndicate, Inc.", on box and lower pant leg.
Condition
Very good condition. Some minor playwear. Shows nicks, particularly to skin of drum and arms. Reproduction box.
