ARTIST
Mark Robichaud (born 1962) is a folk artist who has been active in Belliveau Cove, Nova Scotia since the 1980s. His work consistently challenges conventions, offering fresh perspectives by reinventing traditional forms of art. Mark plays with both primary 'as found' colours and materials. Before dedicating himself to art, Mark Robichaud pursued various occupations, including millwork, labor, clam digging, and fish processing. Although new work from him has been limited in recent years, his creative and carefully executed pieces continue to entice collectors across North America. A regular artist featured at the Lunenburg Folk Art Festival.

Description
Belliveau Cove, Nova Scotia. C. 1995. A very colourfully painted jester carving by Mark Robichaud; one from a series of jesters he carved in the 1990s. The figure is wearing a metal jester's cap in red, white and blue. His outfit is in blue, white, and red with figural adornments. Mounted to a circular white base. Signed, "Marc Robichaud", on bottom of base.
Condition
Good original condition. Paint is bright and there are no repairs.
