Description
Beardmore, Ontario. C. 1980. A defining characteristic of Ewald Rentz's work is that he often drew his inspiration from what the twigs or limbs he found suggested to him. Here he imagined a deer with one antler, which not only presents a very pleasing sculptural form but also suggests something that a person might see in the season when deer shed their antlers. A unique earlier piece with great form and colour. Unsigned, typical of Rentz's earlier works.
Condition
Good overall condition. Repair to the tip of one antler.

Painted wood, plywood.
