Description
An early wooden chantecler weathervane with a weathered painted surface and a leather comb and leather wattles. The surface is very textured from exposure to the elements and the old red paint is over an original cream-white base. Original iron post and mounting plates on the body. The tail has likely been trimmed due to damage. Includes turned mounting block. Quebec, 1890-1930.
Provenance
From the Rutter Family Collection.
