An early Canada Goose gunning decoy by Jim Gatreau from Losier Settlement, New Brunswick, with very good form. The main body has never been painted leaving the darkened grain exposed and the head is attached to the body by a spike through the neck. Second quarter 20th century.

Very good overall condition with some paint loss to the body and old damage to the tail. Several age cracks including a large one on the left from the neck to belly. White areas have seen gunning repaint.
