Description
An American dome top deed box in original paint with pomegranate motifs on the front and a floral sprig on the top, both within a double pinstripe border of yellow and black. The lid is affixed with coiled wire hinges and the underside of the lid is inscribed in pencil "Miss Mary Jane Ricker Parsonfield...presented to her by J. (James) S. Dover N.H. 1857". Ex collection Eugene E. Derryberry (1942-2007) of Roanoke, Virginia. Ex collection Peter Davidian, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
