Description
Very finely forged child-size fireplace tongs with a facet head finial on the handle and stamped "FJS". Possibly used as pipe tongs to retrieve hot coals although pipe tongs usually had a spring mechanism to secure the embers in place. Waterloo, Ontario, mid-19th century.
